Casio Computer Company was founded in Tokyo in 1946 by the Kashio family. Four Kashio brothers--Toshio, Kazuo, Tadao, and Yukio--and their father founded a company that was to be managed under a "spirit of creation"; the company philosophy remains "creativity and contribution."
The name Casio is an anglicized version of Kashio, demonstrating that from the beginning the company was acutely aware of the economic significance of international marketing.
Rising from being a pioneer in the invention and advancement of calculators, Casio has become the leader in digital communication and advanced technology.
Casio has been well known for the huge variety and innovation of their watches almost since the beginning of production. They were one of the first watch companies to manufacture the now famous quartz crystal watches. The quartz watches produced by Casio were available in both digital and analog styles. It is possible that the most well remembered watch produced by this company was the calculator watch.
Casio watches are some of the most advanced, useful, practical, and most durable timepieces in the world.
