Daily Deal 912524110665PThe Ebel watch is a watch that pays attention to details. We know that that you have something to say and give you a way to say it. Anything off-the-shelf won’t do. If you waltz into Walmart, buy the first $9.79 watch you see and expect it to say anything about you other than “I’m a cheap SOB who just waltzed into a Walmart and bought the first $9.79 watch I saw,” you will kindle my wrath and I will therefore embarrass you in front of thousands of people by writing a marriage proposal from you to your girlfriend on the JumboTron at the next Yankees game when you’re definitely NOT ready for it (wanna see?).

Get a watch that says something about you and wear it like the Sultan that you are. And while you’re sitting on your throne, surrounded by your court, a harem of beautiful women, and a herd of elephants, you better have something good to say (elephants poop more when they’re upset). Otherwise, you’re going to get thrown in jail by a lanky, dark-dressing villain with a wise-crakin’ genie and will only be saved by a young and dashing hobo on a magic carpet who kills the villain, steals the genie, and selflessly wishes for everything to go back to normal (I would have wished for an XBOX 360. And a pet tiger. And a rocket ship. Good thing I didn’t have to save you, cuz I probably would have left you in jail while playing Halo all day in your palace).

The Ebel 1911 Automatic is built for style, for high stress work and play conditions (like skateboarding), and for people on a whole different plane of cool than the rest of us (I was on a skateboard only once. Shattered my pelvis. That’s right, my body systematically and violently rejects all forms of cool that even come near my body; it’s like that one time I threw up on Shaun White; not pretty). So ditch the cheap Walmart watch (it’s going to break in 5 days anyway), put this bad boy on your wrist, and let your reign of cool begin (which I hope will be better than Matthew McConaughey’s Reign of Fire)

The Ebel watch company was founded in 1911 by Eugene Blum and his wife, Alice Levy. The following year, they debuted the first Ebel wristwatch. In 1914, Ebel received a gold medal of distinction at the Swiss National Exhibition of watches. Eleven years later, the company was awarded Grand Prize at the Exhibition of Decorative Arts in Paris. In its formative years, Ebel remained a small family business with Alice running the day to day operations and her husband handling sales and marketing. In 1929, their son joined the company and took an active role in the development of the company’s reputation for quality and precision. This culminated in the company being the first Swiss watchmaker to introduce the “Western Electric” standards in 1935. By the end of that decade, Ebel was the official supplier of timepieces to the British army.

Ebel watches are constructed with delicate, soft curves fusing together the watch face and bracelet. This distinguished design makes the watch free of sharp edges, and gives the owner a timekeeping device that is both comfortable and beautiful on the wrist. It is for these reasons that the Ebel watchmakers are known as “The Architects of Time”, and their current watch collections continue to revolutionize the industry.

The Ebel watch collection features models designed for both men and women. There are six designs included in Ebel’s men’s watch collection and six designs featured in Ebel’s women’s watch collection. Four of these designs feature variations for both men and women. For example, the Ebel Classic watch comes in designs specifically for men and those that are specifically for women. However, the Ebel Classic watches (for men and women) share some common characteristics. Both are based on the idea of the Sport Classic model, a 1977 model that is among the most iconic of the Ebel watches. The men’s and women’s models are both very slender, sleek, and elegant. The Brasilia models (for both men and women) are extremely contemporary and features a rectangular face. Men and women alike also have the option to choose the Sportwave Ebel watch, which is derived from the Ebel Wave watch. It is set in a new and updated case, but still retains the basic design and feel of the original Wave watch. An Ebel watch designed specifically for women is the Beluga, which features a curved bracelet and is set with a variety of jewels. The Beluga Tonneau, also designed for women, is similar to the Tonneau and is just as luxurious. The final Ebel watch model designed specifically for women is the 1911, which is based on the Ebel Caliber 137. It is designed to be a merger of comfort and style, while still maintaining that somewhat “sporty” look. Men are offered three separate versions of the 1911 model, including the 1911 Discovery, the 1911 BTR, and the original 1911.
