And now for the third installment of the vacation diaries. Yes, I’m still on vacation, and yes, I still want to rub it in.

Vacation Diary #3
Daily Deal 7702Yesterday I went out looking for seashells. It was a lot of fun. We looked in every patch of sand, in every tide pool, behind every dock. I came back to the condo with about 10 bags full of the coolest, shiniest, most “hold it to your ear and hear the ocean even though you’re standing on the beach next to the ocean” shells you’ve ever seen. And then I realized, “What am I going to do with all these seashells?” Seriously. I can’t think of what I would do with ONE shell, much less 10 bags of them. A soap dish? Shell bikini? Paint each one and glue googly eyes to make some slightly humorous looking shell people collectables? Maybe I can just dump all of them in my front lawn so I don’t have to mow it anymore (it’s supposed to be desert landscaping, apparently). In any case, what was once fun has now turned into a sunburn and bags of useless calcite.

Maybe I’m calling the glass half empty here, so let me change the tone a bit by somehow relating yesterday’s adventures back to today’s daily deal (I bet I can find some sort of connection). Everyone loves seashells, but besides being pretty little reminders of vacation, they are pretty useless. That seems to be the theme with most things in life. They are either good looking and useless or ugly and helpful (the latter was my mom’s pet name for me growing up…oh, the joys of childhood). But not so with today’s daily deal! It’s both beautiful AND extremely useful (aha! You see? I knew I could find a connection somewhere). This Zodiac Speed Dragon Titanium men’s watch is a unique timepiece with a large, masculine dial and a titanium case and bracelet with everything you need and nothing you don’t. Its sleek design and features will get you lots of looks and compliments. That should help you stand out from all the other shells in the ocean (a second connection! I’m a genius!). Happy buying! Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to get back to not working. Adios! does not ship outside the USA and its territories. Shoppers from outside the USA may place orders for delivery within the United States. Product ships 1-3 days after order.

Zodiac tells you more than just time. It’s a paradigm for how you live your life. It’s about living in the present moment while at the same time craving the next adventure. A spirit made of equal parts intensity and playfulness. A spirit kept firmly inside you regardless of where you are. Be it the boardroom or the gym or hanging from the edge of a glacier. It’s a statement or rather an understatement. One that says you will adapt but you will never follow. That there is indeed a bigger picture out there, somewhere far removed from the day-to-day, and that you intend to find it.

Zodiac comes from a rich heritage of Swiss clockmaking. In 1882 Ariste Calame founded a workshop for the production of special watches in Le Loche, Switzerland, which would later become Zodiac. The son of a watchmaker, Calame was obsessed with the thought of creating the most precise watch of all time. The result of his careful work became the first Zodiac – a pocket watch with a unique character. Thus, the foundation had been laid for a whole series of technical wonders in the world of Swiss watches. Because of their high quality and technical innovations, Calame’s dynasty managed to become one of the fastest growing companies in Switzerland.
