family, although I appreciate the “#1 Dad Hat,” I’m afraid you may not
have stopped to consider the implications of such a
gift.
First of all, how could you ever definitively
prove that I am, in fact, the #1 Dad? The data analysis alone would
cost billions if not trillions of dollars for such a study to have any
significant impact, not to mention the mind-boggling logistics to
complete such a feat in the first place.
Also, even
if it were true that I was the #1 Dad, do you realize how that would
make me look to all the other dads in the neighborhood? They would
instantly be demoralized knowing that I had beat them out as #1 Dad,
and that demoralization would turn to anger and jealousy, which would
lead to all kinds of retaliation: dog poo on our front lawn, mailbox
destroyed, no more Christmas Party invitations, etc. Are you all
willing to face that sort of persecution?
In short,
I appreciate the hat, but am not willing to face the consequences that
said hat implies. Why don’t you get me this Raymond Weil Sport watch instead? It’s a gorgeous, regal watch that I
know all my friends will love and won’t hate me for
owning.
