Dad,
So far camp is…great (did you notice the
ellipsis? I put it in there on purpose so you’d know I hesitated before
saying camp was great). I’m making friends here, the counselors are
really nice, and I’m getting lots of fresh air and exercise. We also saw
Big Foot and found a buried treasure chest full of gold Spanish
doubloons and a magic lamp with a genie that granted me three wishes,
and I used all three wishes to wish that I could stay at Summer Camp
forever.
Oh, and if you couldn’t tell, that was
sarcasm.
Here’s the real deal. I understand you sent
me here because it’s the summer and I’m out of school and you wanted to
put me somewhere so I wouldn’t get on your nerves being home all day.
But I need you to bring me home. It hasn’t stopped raining all week, a
mosquito stole my backpack yesterday (yes, my backpack. It was huge),
for lunch they said we were going to eat pizza but it was actually
catsup on a bagel, and the counselors said that tomorrow we’re going to
start digging holes in an open field to help us build character. I mean,
come on!
The only fun thing we’ve done so far is
canoeing. But our boat had a hole in it and sank so we had to swim to
shore. Luckily, I was wearing Dad’s Tag Heuer watch, which is water
resistant up to 1000ft, so it was all good. I know you’re still a little
pissed that I took it since it’s Dad’s favorite watch, but I couldn’t
help it. I mean, it’s one of the few true luxury watches
out there. It has chronograph function, perpetual calendar, superior
Swiss quartz, and a comfortable, sporty black rubber bracelet. Sometimes
this watch is the only thing that keeps me going here day to day. And I
don’t feel as bad because I know Dad bought it at a 64% deal of the day
discount, so he can afford to buy another one when I use it to bribe
one of the counselors here to let me go.
So if all
goes to plan, I’ll see you soon, and you’ll have to buy Dad another
watch.
